Currently, a lot of fine jewellery pieces are entirely dressed with diamonds or coloured stones. In these cases, each of the stones are precisely cut to fit next to the other without any space in between. The result is stunning : harmonious, luminous surfaces without interruption. The setting technique used here is known as invisible setting.
Invisible setting arrived in the jewellery industry thanks to the improvements to tools and machines, which gave way to structural designs and components upon which diamonds are set as well as the diamonds themselves. This was achieved by creating stretchers in the jewellery pieces where the stone is supposed to be set. A groove is cut into the diamond so that the stretchers can use the grooves to secure/set the stone.
Having an experience of more than a decade in the diamond grooving space, we at S.D. Jewellerys can cater to all types of diamond grooving needs for our clients.
